Side question since I don't have the Jeep yet - where is the AS1 line on the windshield on the WK2s? I'd love an "eyebrow", just have to keep it legal. When I lived in PA, I had my cars with 20% and just dealt with the tickets (only got one) because the inspection stations didn't care. Combined with a Covercraft UVS100 sunshade, the inside stays livable even in TX heat. There is no difference in clarity between naked and tinted glass. A 2 said: Don’t know the percentages but passenger and drives is supposed to match the rear factory tint. The clarity is perfect and it blocks an insane amount of heat. It's just not worth dumping $200 on tint and running the risk of some jagoff at an inspection station failing the car over it.įor tint quality, I have found the BEST dark tint is the 3M Ceramic IR. Unfortunately, I no longer have an inspection station willing to work with me on the tint, so when it comes time to tint the GC, I'm just going to suck it up and go with the legal 25%. I even left the 5% on the rear window which massively cut down on headlight glare. I took the car back and had them put the 20% I originally requested on and it's been perfect. I tried taking the car out at night and I couldn't see a damn thing while driving through parking lots. The windshield is the lightest tint before just UV clear.
